My son Liam has been showing an interest in photography lately and asked if we could go shooting tonight. Who am I to say no to a request like that?
We walked around the neighborhood in the fading light for about an hour. Liam shot flowers, plants, trees, and whatever seemed interesting. I mostly shot him.
Liam used my old Nikon D70 and a 50mm prime. The D70 is still a great camera for learning and the boy enjoys using it. Up to this point, he's used just the 18-70mm DX kit zoom with it. When we got back to the house, he mentioned that the prime made him work a little harder to get the pictures. Excellent observation for a 10-year-old.
I was shooting with my new Panasonic GH3 and the Lumix 35-100 f/2.8 lens. This was my first real test of that camera and lens combination and I'm really impressed. The files are sharp while the exposure and color are both outstanding. Very pleased with this setup and looking forward to seeing what else it can do.
