BJ & Mary Get Married!
June 11th, 2007
UPDATE: Wedding proofs are now online.
Mary & BJ, the couple whose engagement photos I shot recently, were married on Saturday. The girls started the day early–6:15!–by meeting at Zamrazil & Company Hair Studio for breakfast, some fun moments together, and, of course, to have their hair done for the event. Owner Rachel Zamrazil did a wonderful job.

Meanwhile, the guys gathered across town for breakfast at a local restaurant.

Across the street from the restaurant sits the pharmacy where Mary has worked for the last several months. As I was leaving, I noticed they’d posted a congratulatory message on their marquee.

As the event drew nearer, everyone headed over to the church to get dressed. Mary & BJ didn’t want to see each other before the wedding so we took photos of the guys and girls separately.

As typically happens on a wedding day, there was a lot of “hurry up and wait.” The guys enjoyed their time by playing games in the church’s recreation room.

At 2:00, the time for the ceremony had finally arrived!

Once vows, rings, and kisses had been exchanged, the groom planned to whisk away his new bride.

Their getaway car was ready and waiting. One catch: BJ couldn’t find the keys! This sent Mary into hysterics and brought a few good-natured jeers from BJ’s new father-in-law as well.

Before heading to the reception, we took a few moments to make pictures in a quiet outdoor setting.

Folks collected for food and fellowship at the reception hall. Instead of a traditional bouquet and garter toss, Mary & BJ decide to mix it up. The bouquet was given to the couple who’d been married the longest. Mary & BJ have shared a lot of their lives in ministry with kids, and so did a “candy toss” for them as well as the young-at-heart.

To cap off the day, a beautiful cake had been prepared.

What a great day for a great couple!

Beautiful! Thanks for giving me the website! I’ll pass it on to the other bridesmaids, and no doubt they’ll love it too. You did a marvelous job!
