I've had a number of business portrait (AKA headshot) clients in the studio over the last several weeks. Rather than write a number of separate posts, here are three sessions in one.
First is Angela Daniels, pictured at the top of this post, an Edward Jones financial advisor with an office here in Lincoln. I first met Angela through a Chamber of Commerce event a couple years ago. She came by to update her portrait for use on her website and LinkedIn profile.
Also in the financial sector, Julie Bakewell from Bloomington visited the for an updated portrait for her LinkedIn profile. Julie owns Crown Jewel Accounting & Consulting, a firm that caters to small and medium businesses in the Bloomington/Normal area. Julie and I met through Hearts at Home, where she was the accountant at that time. I also made senior pictures for her son Brandon last spring.
On both of these sessions, I used my trusty Olympus OM-D E-M5 camera with the Olympus 45mm lens. And both Angela and Julie were lit with my ALZO Digital Pan-L-Lite setup.
I also had three more members of the Prairie Engineers team into the studio. Their office sits on the other side of the Lincoln courthouse square from my studio, and I'd photographed most of the team last winter. I used a very flattering and simple lighting setup on that first session in December 2013 because I knew we'd need to repeat it at different times as the company added employees. For these latest three, I used the same camera and lens kit but opted for a single Paul Buff Einstein in a 60" Photek Soft-Lighter II umbrella for light.
